I've suddenly started getting a "Run time error '76' Path not found" message when I start up a game. I doens't seem to matter where the game is or if I use 3.0 beta or . Should I reinstall Quest? The Qcompile is set to the correct directory. What's up? Thanks |

Ok, I'm replying to my own post... Just more info. I have tried reinstalling Quest 2.19, and also Quest 3.0 to no avail. I did install another demo of a program called "Quest", though it didn't install into the same directory (and didn't work either). It doesn't appear to have set any environment variables, and I can't find a significant directory entry for it. None of the (your) Quest demos work either, so it's not something I've accidentally programmed. Ideas? |

Is it just the one game, or do all games give the error? |

Is this happening to all games or just one? If it's just one game, check it's not trying to display any pictures or play any sounds you've moved or deleted. If it's happening to all games, check that you haven't moved or deleted any directory you've set Quest to put the ASL log file or game log in - check your options. |

All games were throwing the same path error. Quest was pointing to an apparently ok log file in my program directory. When I changed the options to point to another (new) log file, all became well. When I changed the path back to the original log file, that worked too! One of these "I don't know what I did to break it, and I don't know what I did to fix it, but, hey, it works now" things. Thanks for the help. |
