Hello everyone. My name is Alex, and I am extremely new to Quest. I hope I will not be showing my ineptitude but, I have two questions. One, is there a way to change the size of the menu screen in Quest, and to place the options on the left and right sides if there are say four choices? My second question, or third, depending on how you view the first question is, is there a website where I might learn to code by hand? If anyone is able to answer these questions I would be very grateful. Take care, and good gaming! Alex Wolfe |

As far as I know of, there is no way to change the size of a menu. I don't think the choices can be moved around as they all just line up in a column. As far as the website goes, I don't know of any, but other people here might. The included documents with the Quest download should be very helpful, though, and the download even comes with a template you can use as a blueprint to begin hand coding. |

Well, Tyrants right.... there most likely isn't a web site on the raw hand coding! There IS Al's web site that has working examples in, but that's all... My advice is to get Al's PDF file from here: --CW |

Hey Wolfe..... I'd just like to add this to my previous post: WELCOME to the Quest community.... on my searches of the net, I have found this in appreciation of ALL the newbies out there! Please click on the link.. http://www.roxor.freeserve.co.uk/NEWBIE.WAV This IS NOT a virus.... you shouldn't be able to get viruses from .wav's (I haven't heard of any!!) and I have a virus scanner that was updated last week! This is my own upload site, and no-one should be able to get in there to infect any of my files! .....If you are in doubt then PLEASE check for yourself, save it to your HDD and scan it! :) Just a little thing I think should make ANY newbie feel welcome! Hi all A timely reminder is on order I think! My pdf printable version of the Quest 3.x documents can be grabbed from:- ww.members.aol.com/agbampton/q284a4.pdf No idea who put it on freeserve - but they didn't ask me and the link doesn't work anyway :-) I'm planning an tutorial for writing Quest 3.0 "by hand" at present - this will be available as both an online or downloadable version. My tutorial for version 2 is still available - and does still contain useful background although v3 has new features. Al |

Yes it does!!! I initially put it up just to get it to the PC at work...... I couldn't find the link in this forum! I thought other people would like it, and so just posted the link... They might as well get it from you though! :) I think there may be something wrong at your end, unable to get mine, unable to get yours.... tut, tut, tut! ;) Have you tried the sound file? --CW |
