include a displaytype in a type?

Because ive put

displaytype <blah> in a define type block, and it just sees it as a property!

Yes you can - and you WANT it to be treated as a property, trust me on this :-)

Try

quote:

define type <monster>
displaytype = monster
end define

Then put this object in a room

quote:

define object <grue>
look <YUK!>
type <monster>
end define

And try it - you'll see the displaytype works perfectly and the Grue is listed as a monster. Although 'displaytype' it IS a property here - properties take precedence over tags so it's EXACTLY what you want.
