Don't worry, this one isn't a problem, just a question. In fact, thanx to everyone's help, I seem to have gotten most of the techincal problems solved, and if I ever get some free time from all my schoolwork, I can make some progress with the game.
Anyway, on to my question. What exactly is the advantage in upgrading to Quest Pro? All I saw in there was "the ability to hide game code from the user". Is that it? Because if that's all the upgrade will do, it doesn't really seem worth the money :-)

The hiding source code means you convert your ASL file to a CAS file which can't be edited - with an ASL file you make it very easy for people to look at your code to see what happens, or to edit your games.

You also will find that QDK won't eat away five seconds of your time each time you load it while it politely reminds you.

But best of all you support my work on Quest and QDK and make sure that this site stays online - these things cost money you know.

And you make me a lot happier. Not bad for a few quid/bucks!

What he DIN'T say is that if your work actually consists of one smallish ASL file and a lot of separate code libraries, the QCompile utility bundles all these into ONE 'cas' file too.

This makes the whole thing a lot neater as well as keeping your game (relatively) safe from those who wish to list the code and cheat!

What we need now Alex is a way to bundle all the sound / graphics files into one resource file so that we can distribute those easily too...

But don't forget - upgrade to Quest Pro today and you get FREE upgrades forever. And you give me an incentive to add nice features. Ah go on.
