![]() I know that the language SUDS has a cool feature that automatically makes a map of all rooms in the game and how they connect. It would be awesome if Quest did this also. My game is getting pretty big by this time, and I'm starting to have trouble remembering which rooms connect to which! The map wouldn't necessarily be accessible to the player, though it may have an option to enable that. But it should definitely be accessible to the programmer. I know it sounds like a very complicated addition, and I'm not sure if you'd be able to do it, but it would be an extremely useful feature. |

![]() It's an idea I've thought of and one on the "to do" list for some point in time, though it will require a bit of work so don't expect anything too soon! |

![]() Now a 3D map - that would be cool! |

![]() Well, I doubt it'll be 3D - as quest itself is REALLY 2D (no Up or Down on the compass....) But down could just be represented by a diagonal green line! I wouldn't go TOO far into making this system perfect, Ie. Room's names, dotted/solid lines to each other (indicating a shown/hidden exit - possibly for Quest 4.0 or 3.5 or something.), green dotted lines to represent down, red lines to represtent up. All a bit like Dreamweaver 4 (if you've seen it) site map or a tree diagram - only bigger. Computer Whizz |

![]() Sounds cool! Meanwhile, though, do you know of any programs that would let me make my own map? It needs to have persistent links between rooms; i.e. if room A connects to room B, and I move room B, the link between them will also move, tilt, stretch, whatever, to keep the two rooms connected. Any ideas what program to use? |

![]() ummm.... Microsoft WORD?? lol nah I dunno Photoshop or something but I think an actual proffessional program would be too confusing yah know? well I think the 3D map is a really COOL idea! And QUEST isn't 2D if you don't want it to be! Think about it, going UPstairs, down a trap door, forward, back, going out windows - it is pretty much 3 dimensional! :D |

![]() Yes, but that's in the players' perspective. As a designer you can only have exit's to the North, NE, East, SE, South, SW, West and NW. Computer Whizz |
