Hello
I have always wanted to make a game with a battle system in it, but i really don't understand it very well because i don't understand the help file. If anyone can help me, feel free to do so.

Talk to one of the other members. There are a few here who know a lot about Quest battle engines. :)

First off you need to know what type of system you want:
The Final Fantasy system - where you run into battles randomly (except storyline / boss battles).
The intelligent system - where the enimies have a mind of their own and you run into them accordingly (kinda like doom I expect.)
The placed system - this is where the monsters are put in place and you only run into these (Chrono Trigger and Magic Sword Part 1 use these to my knowledge...).
Now the Intelligent isn't really possible right now, since you'd need to create your own brain for each monster ect... Quest isn't suited for it.
That leaves the Placed and FF system's.
Just tell me which one you would like and I'll tell you more about it!

Oooh! Computer Whizz that Final Fantasy engine sounds quite intruiging!
Would you mind giving us a demo and/or telling us a bit about it? :D

Well there are different aspects of it. I'm working on one right now but I only have bits of spare time here and there.... I'm too busy sleeping the rest of the time.

And let's not forget college ; P
After my exams have ended, and I have gone through the "bridging courses" then I'll have some more free time and will probably complete it.
Al will probably beat me to it, or Tyrant.... or even my arch nemesis Luridii : )
But mine will be the best! LOL
If you really wanna know more about it I'll go into the different parts of it.

I have no idea where Luridii is - but then again it's his GCSE test's coming up (from what I remember) so he'll be a bit worried.
Tyrant is alway's coming in and out - but I'm sure he'll be back soon!
