Is it currently possible to create commands that the questnet server can run from the server side. Like perhaps setting questnet to catch incoming IP's and ban them, or perhaps message something to a specific user. Nothing has really been said about ASL for questnet in that respect. If not, I understand it's merely a beta, but were you planning on implementing such things in the full versions?

Just a random thought I had, I'm thinking if necessary I could make an IP banning procedure in asl, just winging it not knowing much about questnet's internal operations, but maybe it's not possible to send data from the server display screen to the client screen. Oh well, just curious.

I dont think there are any commands you can call, except the 2 it shows. hopefully, alex will make QuestNet so there are multiple options, commands, to perform when the full version comes out. Being able to talk privately with players, and go around the game from the Qnet window, and teleporting down to certain squares if a player needs help would be helpful. i shall make a topic, and add some suggestions that i think would make Qnet helpful to the server admin.

Eventually QuestNet server will indeed let you define your own admin commands, and it will probably have something to ban IPs etc. built-in. The next release has support for logins which should reduce any need for this though.

As for Gautier UK's suggestions, you can talk privately to other players already if you're a player in the game. If you wanted you could be a "hidden" player in a completely detached room, and implement a command using the "msgto" ASL command that would send a private message to whoever you wanted. Ideally you'd be able to send a private message from the admin window - once you can specify admin commands, you'd be able to send private messages by implementing the ASL "msgto" command within an admin command.

As for going around the game in the QuestNet admin window, that would actually not be very easy to do. It is better I think to keep the admin separate from the playing of the game, and I think the current system of having separate QuestNet Server and Quest client windows does this well enough.
