i read a while back that MadBrit (Al) was going to create a QuestNet manual. This is probably a little impossible due to the fact he probably doesnt know what the new version of QuestNet will be like. But adding things like code changes from the single player version would be quite helpful. for example, giving the player an object by using the #player# script may not work (i dont know if it doesnt work, but its just an example), so instead, using %playerID% (or wotever it is) would print the players name. adding things like this would be useful for now. thanks =) |

Somehow I doubt Al will be able to make a QuestNet manual before I can! :) There will be a full manual available of course, but for now the included questnet-asl.txt contains pretty much everything you need to know as far as new commands etc. go. |

Hi guys Actually, I THINK I said I'd write a New Quest ASL Tutorial, not a Quest Net Manual - which is something entirely different! Any references to QuestNet would be basic in the extreme as (as Alex suggests) it is still very much a moving target. That said, I've been rather less than 100% fit for quite a while and all my projects have been on hold, excepting the new typelib.qlb library which I have been slowly debugging with a couple of helpful testers as my condition allows. either way, whoever writes the Qnet manual, it would be cool to have one as soon as the full version of Qnet comes out. |

I think that's pretty much a requirement. I certainly don't want to be releasing a full version of anything without a manual - nobody would know how to use it, which would be highly silly. |

lol it would yes. But i suppose the manual shouldnt be that big, because i guess you would put code changes for an online quest game would go in the Quest Help file under the ASL topics. commands, how to use and connect topics would be the main thing needed in the Qnet manual |
