From what I remember there are some pro-Adrift comments on the Quest download page, but I never bothered to question those.

Does ADRIFT have a language like Quest? I didn't think it did!

To ADRIFT guy: I think the ease-of-use in ADRIFT was succum by functions..... To improve this simplify the game creation program! Put things into menu's, easy to read labels.... ect... take Alex's idea of the room menu/list display and take it further! I only had ADRIFT for a matter of 1 or 2 hours.... I couldn't get the hang of it so it went! But when I came across QDK, I ran it, put a couple of rooms in and butta-bang, a game that was playable (to some extent!). Now I'm getting into it's raw code and that's even MORE fun!! Trust me, simplify it, add maybe "attachable" functions onto the game creation program....

Firstly - it pays not to put in your password until you finish typing your post, then when the cat jumps on the keyboard you don't send postings you've hardly started.

:-)

I'm actually very impressed - Campbell Wild's obvious desire to find out what his users like and dislike about ADRIFT shows that he's open to ideas and not averse to listening to (constructive hoepfully) criticism - that's a very good thing and he's to be heartily commended for that.

If Alex will look away a moment please? - thank you...

I've never been shy of offering Alex constructive criticism re Quest - since version 1 I've been chipping in suggestions, (not all good I admit) and have always found that he too is very receptive - indeed a number of Quest functions are ones I specifically asked for or in some way suggested.

Whether one prefers Adrift or Quest is a personal thing (it's obvious where I stand I think) but we should be grateful that people like Alex and Campbell are out there writing stuff, listening to what we want - and if it makes sense - supplying it.

If I had one, I'd take my hat off to both gentlemen!
