ummmm..... does anyone know where I can download a codec that enables me to listen to Real Audio files in Windows Media Player do they? I used to have it for my old machine - originally downloaded from the normal internet automatic thing, but that was a one off thing! I don't have to install Real Player do I?? If so, can I uninstall it afterwards? Computer Whizz |

Alas no. There are plugins for Winamp that will let you play RealWhatever files, but you have to install RealPlayer first. Just make sure you've thoroughly checked all options so that you don't end up with RealPlayer taking over your whole system -very annoying how they assume that anybody just wanting to listen a RealAudio stream suddenly wants to live their entire life The RealAudio Way. So you're saying I can uninstall RP afterwards? And there IS a plug-in for winamp, but that ALSO requires RP to be installed - I was wondering about Windows Media Player (further referred to as WMP), and wondered if I could download Real's codec from somewhere else, so that I could play .ra's on WMP..... ahhh well, off to real.com it is!
