Carlii asks in the reviews of "Posh's New Year's Eve": "do you actually LOOK at these games before you add them, Alex?"

I do look at all the games that are submitted (eventually), but I put the vast majority on the site - I've only ever not uploaded a couple of games I've received because they've been too small (yes, even smaller than some of the really, really, small games that *do* appear in the archive).

Of course, it being my web site, I can choose to accept or reject any game for any reason, but I prefer not to exercise any censorship - I do put warnings up if a game contains any content that might be objectionable to some people, but I think the decision to play a game should be yours, not mine. The reviews are there to help you with that decision.

I don't mean as in check the games for sensorship, more like if they are even worth playing (some of them are really bad :S).

No doubt that it is true some of the games are 'really bad' - but do you want someone else to make a judgement as to whether you would like a game?

I think the idea of presenting all the games, and a review section is the only practical solution. Maybe read the reviews and take a note of who's opinions you share and use that as a guide if you don't want to try all games for yourself.

Personally I choose to go to the cinema on a reversal of this logic, if a film is critically slated and panned for having 'no deeper meaning' then it is (probably) exactly the kind of mindless, escapist movie I rather like!

It's true. Every author wishes to have his/her game published, because, however bad it is, it is a product of his/her efforts and has something to say about himself/herself. Censoring someone's expression is anethical according to me.
I myself have published one short game, which, according to many people sucks: Bad use of english, too short, too easy, no actual gameplay e.t.c. But I am proud of it, because I was in front of a computer in a serious of hot summer middays trying to complete it. Because at least one other person liked it. And this person actually made one game I liked too and which game was an inspiration to make it (And he didn't understood the similarity, until I told him.) Because I made something of my own. That's the point of IF authoring: Create something that expresses you. Even if the majority hates it, someone may like it. That's why I don't like censorship.
