I know that you (Alex) have got your web page hosted on someone elses server - but what happens if you have a permenent on-line connection and want to host your own site? Can you point me in the right direction here? Computer Whizz |

Ummm, my brother does that (using cable)...I think you need something called a 'U' server or something...? Sorry, I don't know much about it. |

Download a web server such as Apache, set it up, and run it - simple. Presumably your permanent connection will be via ADSL or a cable modem or somesuch, and your provider probably takes steps to prevent you running a server on it, such as by changing your IP address every few days. You can get around this using an IP forwarding service - try www.dyndns.org. |
