Really, I have another question. What does the term RPG means to you?
To me, it is a game in which you play a persona, try to advance his powers and write a history of his own. I am a great fan of pen and paper RPGs. My favourites are Call of Cthulhu by Chaosium and Mage: the Ascension by White Wolf Game Studios. The last one has the most awesome magic system ever! Totally fluid, letting you do any effect you wish. But I never say no to a DnD game. From computer RPGs I like a lot games like Baldur's Gate and Fallout.
You?

To be frank, I haven't played that many number of RPGs but the ones I have I've really liked (it's not that I'm a big gamer just that where I live RPGs are uncommon).

RPG's mean to me where I take on the life of one character and have a reasonable control over what happens to them in this part of their life.

Well, I haven't really found a true RPG where I choose the fate of my character in a normal game yet.

They all give SOME variation, like a sentance here or there.... but nothing like a 'true' RPG should.

My fav text one has got to be unnkulian unventure II.
My fav modern-RPG has to be FF8. It just got to me : )
FF6 had good music and storyline...
And if you could call it an RPG, Resident Evil 2 is the best game I have ever played!

I forgot a game;
Chrono Trigger.

I haven't played Chrono Cross (and I doubt I ever will :( ) which is Chrono Triggers' Sequal - but I would expect a good game.
Chrono trigger was so good, it made me feel the same as I felt playing FF8 for the first time.

Anyone else wish to comment on RPG's?

I hate those board game "RPG's", or those web-based ones where you make up a character/number of characters and have them interact. That isn't an RPG, that's an ongoing fictional story where you submit various storylines...

Actually, I UUII is an adventure (And I loved it). As for Resident Evil, it ain't RPG for sure. As for choosing the fate of your character try Elder scrolls: Morrowind for PC's . I heard it does that thing.
( In case you haven't understood, I am a hard-core RPGamer.)

My veiw on a game is that the storyline isn't good - there's no real point in playing it...

That's why I have no problem cheating on any games, using cheat cart's, cheat progs, ect... I'm more interested in the storyline than the "challenge".

That's why text games are so good, you get to see descriptions nearly as good as pictures and (usually) a good storyline.

I'm no "hard-core RPG'er" but I like any game with a storyline.

You guys should check out this rpg called Eternal City. http://eternal-city.com

I was an addict of that game for about two years. It has a good storyline and is a great choice for those who like hardcore rpging.

What's so funny with hardcore?
My body still aches after a hardcore gig I was at yesterday (Just joking, hardcore rp-ing is playing rpg's with dedication. Nothing kinky!)

Well, one of my future projects would be a Dungeons and Dragons satire. That's a promise!
