Yabb is one of the best known forums. it would be great if you could install one of these. and example of what a yabb forum looks like is on my forum http://sas.proboards15.com - it isnt exactly a yabb forum, but its 96% the same. its also more fun to use =)

I know there are only 3 forums on here, but im sure that Quest would look more professional with a yabb forum.
You could have more than 3 forums too.....

If alex doesnt have enough bandwidth for a yabb forum (because the forum itself is free), i suggest a proboards forum, its totaly free, and you only have to pay for add-removal. :) thanks

Also this board isn't bad. It doesn't take ages to load, and you can basically (*basically*) do whatever you can on others. The only extra's would be list's (which are pointless since you can write in *'s), HTML (which is pointless also because HTML in messages suck) and easy-to-add smilies (which is just a pretty front end... You can add smilies by using the [img] tag).

This forum does a pretty good job.
The only thing that I would find really useful is email notification if someone responds to your message.

2) IM's
3) attraction (ppl like yabb boards)
4) ITS JUST FUN TO USE AND EASY! lol
5) you can edit your posts
6) make polls
7) smilies, yes, they are fun dammit!
8) decent profile manager
9) cheap (or free, which ever)
10) they look professional
maybe those arnt 10 DECENT reasons why alex should get a yabb forum, but i just find them alot better and easy, and more professional looking. If you like, i could make one (not that anybody would post, but its worth a try).

YABB forums look retarded. Everyone has one, and they over complicate everything. The ULTIMATE forums are better than YABB forums because they don't clutter everything up. As is though, this forum is perfect. You don't need a ton of stupid categories or features. Plain, simple and to the point.

Don't take what he says as how all people feel. Yabb forums are stupid and most will agree with that. I have been banned from a few boards for speaking my mind and trust me nothing you've said so far is bad.

Jakk - Alex doesn't usually ban people... IIRC he's only banned 1 person and that's for a post just containing swearing.
Ste - This is a chat forum right here... I could talk about polo's on toast if I wanted to and I wouldn't be wasting anyone's time (well - except my own) because this IS a chat forum, where the topic is.... CHATTING!
If you think a new forum is needed then fine... You may like hanging around on web sites where pop-up's appear every 10 seconds and pictures slow down your access to a forum topic which you really need to help with your game. Or where HTML is frequently used allowing people to put code on just to have the text "ahhhhhh.... WEEEEEE" marquee'ing around - or many other pointless HTML things. But many of us like to actually read what people bother to put in their posts, using this forum is quick and easy. There isn't 1 thing on that list of 10 things which couldn't be done.
IM's - use your e-mail... Smilies - use test or use the [img] UBB tag with a picture of a smilie... Easy - what's more easy then "username, password, message, click" - really, is that so difficult for you? Cheap is a whole lot more then what he's using now. You have a profile - you can edit it. People don't come here to share their favourite milkshake! Take your time over a post and you don't need to edit - plus when you edit a post at the beginning of a 3 page topic very little people go back to read it.
