Since I lost most of my game engine due to a MASSIVE HARD DRIVE FAILURE, I will soon begin work on a new multiplayer game engine, that will be basically open source and people will be able to download the most recent release, build, or perhaps even the file as I edit and save it. Seeing as it will be open source, I ask that anyone that visits these forums and would potentially like to use the game engine please suggest any features they would like. Here is a list of features I already plan on implementing in this system explained as well as possible for now. * Complete Combat System - A full and detailed melee and ranged combat system, including two-handed weapons, two-weapon combat, ranged combat, and multi-opponent combat. * Object Oriented Class System - A complete class system, based on defined class objects, allowing for easy modification, creation and removal of player choosable classes. Perhaps implementation of dynamically created classes through computing logically grouped skills, guild affiliations and stats. * Object Oriented Guild System - Complete player or NPC run guild/guild creation system. Allow for editing of guild skills, languages, perks, dues, etc. Allow customization of eligibility for guilds based on wide range of player aspects, from previous guild associations(both good and bad) to levels, skills, stats, relationships, travels, etc. * Object Oriented Skill and Spell System - Allows for dynamically created, modified, and removed player skills and spells, combat manuevers, guild abilities, spoken/known languages and much more. Allows "GM" ability to create/modify for game balance and expansion. * Open Ended Level/Skill/Stat System - Uncapped experience system that allows for level based progression and advancement of primary class skills and stat advancement, as well as mid-level skill/spell advancement, specialization, and alignment. Both aligning your physical actions/affiliations and your spiritual faith/soul. Stat system providing both noticable level to level improvements and not allow "maxing" out of stats or skills, thus "beating" the game. Experience gained through fighting creatures, as well as crafting armor, npc quests, player made quests, weapons, shields, clothing, and other goods. * Complete World-Wide Weather System - World-wide logically progressing, life like weather systems dynamically altering the appearance of rooms and areas, as well as allowing to uncharted or hidden areas. Time of day and weather conditions effect alignment tasks and rituals, skill/spell training tasks and assignments, increasing or reducing effectiveness as well as changing or effecting alignment. There is much more I'm planning but that's a start. Any and all suggestions or discussions of features(suggested by me or others) is appreciated. Me |
